Game Preview vs. The London Majors
 


The Majors will open their 2008 campaign Saturday  against the Royals at Hastings Stadium. The Majors roster features two former pro farm hands in Jess Bechard (Toronto) and Mike Galloway (Kansas City) . Also joining the Majors this season all the way from Osaka, Japan is Toshi Sasa who is looking to the IBL as potential stepping stone to the major leagues. 

Paul Bruder was scheduled to make the start for the Royals but has been scratched from the lineup due to an undisclosed injury.  As of press time manager Kevin Hinton had not named his replacement.

The Royals head into Saturday's contest with a 2-0 record following their 15-6 victory over the Hamilton Thunderbirds here at Hastings Stadium. The game took three hours and forty seven minutes to complete and is believed to be the longest home opener in team history.  Sean Reilly led the Royals at the plate  with two triples and a two run homer driving in seven runs on the night.

Oakville native Zack Dickson is scheduled to be joining the Royals in  time for  this weekend's action having been sidelined for his entire sophomore season at the University of Central Arkansas with a broken hand. 

 

 

Reilly feasts on the Thunderbirds

Sean Reilly had a career night Tuesday night as he had two triples and a two run home run to pace the Royals to a 15-6 victory over the Hamilton Thunderbirds.  Reilly finished the game with seven runs batted in while Craig Fairfull picked up the win in relief of Royals starter Patrick Warden.  Warden only lasted 3 and and third innings and didn't qualify for the win despite leaving the game with a 5-1 lead.
