Baycats drop the Royals in 11Baycats

For the Royals Wednesday night was another case of different day, same script as
s errors led to another defeat at the hands of the Barrie Baycats.

The Royals lost 4-3 in 11 innings with the winning run scoring all the way from 2nd base on a throwing error on an attempted pickoff play.

Barrie touched up Royals starter Brett Lawson for two runs in the bottom of the forth inning and a single run in the 7th. Lawson pitched seven complete innings allowing three runs on four hits, four walks and four strikeouts

The Royals got on the scoreboard in the top of the 8th inning on a solo home run by Brian Brown and rallied to tie the game up 3-3 in the top of the ninth inning on a two out single by Jeremy Hudson.

Joey Ellison took over in relief and was tagged with the loss in the 11th.

The Royals travel to Hamilton Friday night to face the Hamilton Thunderbirds. Game time is 7:30 pm at Bernie Arbour Stadium. Fans can tune in live to the radio play by play on INDI FM out of Hamilton.

The Royals then host the London Majors Saturday afternoon at 2 pm on Students Day.
