Castillo "The Jet" Lands in Guelph for 2026

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce the signing of Marcos "The Jet" Castillo for the 2026 season.
Castillo, 26, becomes the first announced signing in Canadian Baseball League history.
A native of Round Rock, Texas, Castillo joins the Royals after playing for the Texas Tailgaters of the Banana Ball Championship League in 2025.
Prior to his time in Banana Ball, Castillo played for the Brantford Red Sox in 2024. That season, the explosive outfielder batted .350 with six doubles and four triples in just 19 games.
Castillo, who has a cannon of an arm, went to Coppin State University from 2018-2022 before turning professional with the New Jersey Jackles of the Frontier League in 2023.
The Royals first signed player for the 2026 CBL season said he cannot wait for the new chapter in his career.
"It's an honour to be a part of a professional ball club with such history and community support. I'm ready to work hard, compete, and help bring a championship to Guelph in 2026."
Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said he could not think of a better first signing for the Royals.
"Our city and fan base is going to love the energy and passion that Marcos brings to the field every day. On the field, he is an explosive and toolsy player who will help reshape our outfield and top-of-the-order, and off the field, he is all in on helping us grow in the community."
