D1 Standout Watt Bolsters Royals Rotation
GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce today the signing of starting pitcher Liam Watt.
Watt, 22, joins the Royals after a dominant senior season in college.
In the spring, Watt, who pitched for the Royals in 2023 while in college, went 8-2 with a 3.90 ERA in ten starts and 20 appearances at Dallas Baptist.
Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said he is thrilled to add the Burlington, Ontario native to the Royals staff.
"We are thrilled to add Liam. He had as good of a year in college as any Canadian, rounds out our rotation, and allows us to move someone to our bullpen to deepen our entire staff. There is no guarantee he lasts the whole year with us, given how dominant of a season he had in college, but we are thrilled to have him for however long he will be here."
