Deans Returns for Fifth Season in Guelph

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce the re-signing of right-handed pitcher Brandon Deans.

Deans, 24, returns for his fifth season with the Royals, making him the longest-serving pitcher on the staff.

In his first four seasons with the team, the 6'4" righty has a lifetime ERA of 4.10, with a staggering 201 strikeouts in 145 innings.

The Mississauga, Ontario native pitched his best baseball of his career in the 2025 playoffs for the Royals, throwing six innings of shutout baseball with seven strikeouts.

Deans said he is excited to return to the Royal City.

I'm incredibly grateful and excited to be back in the Royal City for another season. This group is something special and I can't wait to battle together and bring a championship back home to Guelph."

Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said Deans is an integral part of the Royals pitching staff.

"We are super happy to have Brandon back. I have always loved his energy on the mound, how electric his stuff can be when he is on his game, and his ability to start and come out of the bullpen. He was unhittable down the stretch for us last summer. I truly think he can be an All-Star in this league."
