Lawson Lays Down The Law on The Sox

BRANTFORD - Brett Lawson threw eight innings and Evan Kiser tossed the ninth as the Guelph Royals blanked the Brantford Red Sox 7-0 on four hits Sunday afternoon in Brantford.

Starting pitcher Abel De Los Santos battled for the Red Sox, taking his team into the seventh inning behind just 1-0. Guelph scored three times in the seventh and three times in the ninth en route to their 11th win against 11 losses.

Veteran Sean Reilly keeps on rolling for the Royals. He hit a pair of home runs to give him nine on the year and is batting .478.

Nic Burdett had the only extra base hit for the Red Sox, a double. It was Brantford’s 18th straight loss after starting the year with a victory.
