Majors Use Long Ball to Hand Royals Second Consecutive Loss

Cleveland Brownlee and Keith Kandel each hit solo home runs in the London Majors’ 6-2 win over Guelph Friday night at Labatt Park.

Both players finished with two hits and combined to score three times. Taylor Wright went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run, Chris McQueen had three hits and drove in a run, and Gibson Krzeminski added an RBI.

Jose Arias (4-0) pitched into the eighth inning for the win, allowing two unearned runs on five hits over 7.2 frames. He walked two and struck out 11.

Ethan Hammond picked up two of Guelph’s five hits and also scored one of two Royals’ runs in the eighth.

Emilis Guerrero (2-2) allowed six runs (five earned) on 13 hits over seven innings, walking one and striking out three. ‘

London is now 8-3, and Guelph slipped to 6-6.
