Patterson Back With Royals for 2023 Season
GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce today that we have re-signed outfielder Ashton Patterson for the 2023 season.
Patterson, 22, returns to Guelph for the upcoming season after a successful first season with the team in 2022.
In a combined 18 games, the Kitchener, Ontario native batted .368 with more walks (11) than strikeouts (10).
The ex-Guelph Silvercreeks star said he is happy that he is back with the Royals for this season.
"I am excited to be back with the Royals. I cannot wait to build on last year and to compete for a championship."
Royals field manager Dino Roumel said Patterson is well-deserving of a contract for the 2023 season.
"We are so excited to have Ashton here on a full-time basis. A graduate of the University of Guelph, 'Patty' played with us last year and was a key figure in our success during the regular season. He is loved by his teammates for the way he plays the game. Offensively, he is a spark plug who uses his speed and bat control to ignite our offence. He is also an outstanding defender."
