Rain Washes Away Panthers and Royals

by Jake Eagle

The Kitchener Panthers and Guelph Royals ballgame Saturday night at Hastings Stadium was called due to rain just short of a complete game as the teams were about to start the top of the 5th inning when lightning was seen in the distance.

A severe downpour quickly followed with the Panthers leading the Royals 3-2 leaving the umpires no choice but to call the game as the field was a massive series of puddles.

Fans who purchased tickets to the game and did not obtain a complimentary ticket on the way out of the ballpark are adviced to contact the Royals via their facebook page to obtain one for another regular-season home game in 2019
