Royals Add D2 MVP Donaldson

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce the signing of infielder Drew Donaldson for the 2026 season.
Donaldson, 25, joins the Royals after a successful stint in the California Winter League.
In 19 games with the British Columbia Bombers, the right-handed bat hit .310 with five doubles and a base hit.
Prior to his time in the California Winter League, the Hilliard, Ohio native played college baseball for Indianapolis Greyhounds.
In his senior season, Donaldson, who will play second base for Guelph, was lights out, hitting a whopping .410 with an OPS of 1.192, en route to being named the D|| MVP by PerfectGame
Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said Donaldson is a big add for the team.
"With Franklin Torres not beginning the season with us, it was imperative we found someone who can take his place and we think we found that guy in Donaldson. He has great bat-to-ball skills, can play both middle infield positions, and has some power. We don't think it will be long before he's playing pro ball elsewhere. I would like to thank Ottawa Titans manager Bobby Brown for recommending Drew to me."
