Royals Add Lefty Escorcia to Bullpen

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce the signing of left-handed reliever Kevin Escorcia.
Escorcia, 31, signs with the Royals after an extensive career in the minor leagues and independent baseball scene.
The native of Barranquilla, Colombia pitched in the Chicago White Sox organization from 2013-2019 before signing with the Gary SouthShore RailCats of the American Association in 2021.
From there, the southpaw signed with the Ottawa Titans, where he had a dominant season as the team's closer, recording an East Division-best 17 saves with a 1.73 ERA.
Since his dominant season in Ottawa, the lefty has spent time in Mexico and Colombia.
Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said Escorcia is an important addition to the Royals bullpen.
"Given how lefty-dominant Welland, Barrie, and London lineups are, it was imperative that we signed a dominant left-hander with full availability for our bullpen. We believe Escorcia is that for us. He comes highly recommended from people I trust. I truly think his slider will be one of the better pitches in the CBL."
