Royals Announce 2025 Coaching Staff

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce today our coaching staff for the 2025 season.

Returning to manager Dino Roumel's staff will be Guelph Sports Hall of Famer Paul Ante as the team's bench coach, Jared Kennedy as the team's pitching coach, and Lacey Scott as the team's athletic therapist.

Ante, who was inducted into the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame in 2024, has been a longtime first base coach and batting practice thrower for the team.

Kennedy, who pitched for the Royals in 2023 before becoming the team's pitching coach in 2024, is also the pitching coordinator for the Ontario Blue Jays and is regarded as one of the best pitching coaches in Ontario.

Joining Roumel's staff will be Donny Fell as the team's associate manager and Jack Kozlowski as the team's equipment manager.

Fell most recently managed the Brantford Red Sox in 2024 and was previously the Ontario Blue Jays U14 head coach.

Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said he is thrilled with the quality and quantity of the team's coaching staff.

"When looking at our coaching staff heading into the offseason, our first priority was bringing everyone back. PA is a Hall of Famer who knows this league and team inside and out, while Lacey is loved by our players.

"Jared, meanwhile, is by far and away the best pitching coach in this league, which I use in any recruiting pitch with a potential free agent. It is not every day someone of Jared's mind and experience coaches in the IBL.

"Our next step was adding an associate manager to help ease Dino's workload and we hit a home run by adding Donny. Full credit to our general manager Adam Fanjoy for recruiting him here. Donny has close relationships with a few players on our team already, has managerial experience in this league, comes from the Ontario Blue Jays pipeline, and is always ready and willing to help out in any area. Adding him just lets everyone else on our coaching staff breathe a little easier, which was long overdue here."

Roumel said he is excited to have Fell on board.

"We are very excited to have Donny join our coaching staff. Donny is a baseball guy. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the game and can help us in a number of different areas. He has also developed a relationship with some of our players already."
