Royals Bring Back Star Player Torres

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce today the signing of catcher/infielder Franklin Torres.
Torres, 29, re-signs with the Royals for his third season with the team after a summer season in Venezuela.
In 2025, the former Los Angeles Angels prospect was dominant for the Royals, hitting a whopping .489 with a 1.308 OPS.
Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said Torres is a game-changing add for Guelph.
"In our mind, we added the best player in the league. Offensively, he pairs his plus pop with elite bat-to-ball skills. Defensively, behind the plate, he can handle a pro pitching staff and has a hose of an arm. He can just as easily play the middle infield for us as well."
