Royals End Slump With Home Win Over First-Seeded Panthers
GUELPH - Breathe a sigh of relief.
The Guelph Royals used a three-run bottom of the fourth inning to propel them over the Kitchener Panthers 5-3 on Tuesday evening to snap their seven-game losing streak.
With the loss, the Panthers drop to 6-3.
Guelph starter Yuki Narita was brilliant in his first career IBL start, picking up the win after tossing six innings of one-run, one-hit ball.
The Japan native struck out eight Panthers batters.
Royals first basemen Justin Interisano led the way at the plate in his second game of the season, going two-for-three with a walk.
Guelph closer Brandon Deans picked up the save.
Kitchener starter Yamichel Perez took the loss, allowing four earned runs on ten hits and one walk.
The Cuban ace struck out four Royals batters.
