Royals Land Versatile Nadal for 2026 Season

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce the signing of utility player Deivis Nadal for the 2026 season.

Nadal, 24, joins the Royals after a five season minor league career in the Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Royals organizations.

From 2019 to 2024, the native of San Pedro de Macoris had a lifetime OBP of .319 with 15 home runs and 66 stolen bases.

In 2023, the left-handed bat was traded one-for-one for big-leaguer Edward Olivares.

Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said he is greatly intrigued by Nadal.

"There is not a new player I am more intrigued in than Nadal. He has big league speed and a big league arm, while he can play anywhere on the field, first base and catcher aside. He has some raw pop in his bat too. If he can manage to get on base at a respectable clip, we think he can be a star."
