Royals Offering Fractional Ownership Stake

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce that the team is offering fractional ownership stake in the team.
The Royals, who announced a full-team sale in November, are now offering 10% stake in the team for $75,000.
David Schooley, who is working with owner Shawn Fuller on expressions of interest, said the following:
"What we’re responding to is the broader landscape around professional minor league sports. There are only a limited number of teams in Canada and solo ownership is now the exception, not the norm.
"As valuations increase, it has become harder and less practical for one person to carry the entire investment alone. Group ownership spreads risk, brings different skill sets to the table, improves long-term stability, and makes succession planning more straightforward. For those reasons, leagues generally prefer diversified ownership. This model is standard across professional sports and mirrors what’s common in real estate and public mark."
