Royals Promote Eakin to General Manager
GUELPH – The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce today the promotion of Ryan Eakin to General Manager.
Eakin, 28, has been involved in the league since 2012 and brings more than a decade of operations experience to his new role.
He began his career with the Barrie Baycats, where he spent nine seasons from 2012 to 2021, helping the organization capture six league championships while serving in a variety of operational roles. Eakin then joined the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 2021 and 2022 seasons before joining the Guelph Royals in 2023. Following two successful seasons with the organization, he was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2025.
Since arriving in Guelph, Eakin has played a key role in building the club's baseball operations. Working closely with manager Dino Roumel, he helped assemble the Royals' 2026 roster, one of the strongest in franchise history, featuring former Major League players, numerous former Minor League players, and international professional talent.
Cooper Parkin, Chair of the Board and member of the Guelph Royals Ownership Group, said Eakin has earned the opportunity through years of dedication and leadership.
"Ryan has been a tremendous asset to our organization since arriving in Guelph. His knowledge of the game, relationships throughout professional baseball, and tireless work ethic have been instrumental in building the roster we have today.
