Royals Sign LHP Ben Braun

The Guelph Royals announced that they have signed former Hamilton Cardinals LHP Ben Braun on Thursday afternoon.

The native of Georgetown was 1-3 with the Cardinals this season . In five starts, he has pitched 23.2 innings, allowing 8 walks and 14 strikeouts.

Braun pitched for Royals manager Dino Roumel while both were members of the Ontario Blue Jays and it is that familiarity that the Royals are counting on at this point in the season.

Braun attended St. Bonaventure University in the US before transferring to Laurier University and helping the Golden Hawks to the OUA championship in 2018.

Braun is tentatively scheduled as the Royals starter in Brantford on Friday night.   Game Time is scheduled for 8 pm at Arnold Anderson Stadium.  

The Royals host the first place Welland Jackfish Saturday night at Hastings Stadium game time is set for 7:30 pm.
