Royals Sign Missouri State Star Gollert

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce today the signing of utility player Taeg Gollert.

Gollert, 23, joins the Royals after a dominant senior season at Missouri State.

In his senior season, Gollert, who grew up alongside numerous Royals players, hit a whopping 16 home runs to go along with his .891 OPS.

Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said Gollert will be a middle-of-the-order bat for Guelph.

"It is not every day you can add an impactful, local Canadian bat to your lineup, so we are absolutely thrilled to add Taeg. He makes us deeper, makes us more of a power threat, and gives Dino Roumel another quality bat to choose from."

In a corresponding move, the Royals have released starting pitcher Alfred Vega.
