Royals two hit the Red Sox

Saturday night at Hastings Stadium, it was the pitching staff's turn to pound some rocks.

Royals manager Dino Roumel handed the ball to his relief core and they delivered a combined two hit blanking of the Brantford Red Sox behind some outstanding pitching performances.

Brendan Deans (2-2) got the start and worked five scoreless innings allowing a just a hit, three walks and struck out six.

Evan Kiser made his season debut in the 6th allowing just a walk and had a strikeout.

Daniel Marquez took the ball for the 7th and 8th allowing a hit, a walk and tallied three strikeouts.

Andrew Case closed the door in the 9th with a pair of strikeouts.

Royals opened the scoring two batters into the home half of the first inning courtesy of a solo blast off the bat of Conner Morro.

Morro finished 2 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBI.

Malik Collymore extended his hit streak to eight games and had an RBI.

Darius Barlas added a hit and two RBI.

Red Sox starter Kendri Salvador (0-1) who signed yesterday from the Frontier League took the loss. He gutted out seven innings allowing eight runs on eleven hits. He surrendered six walks and had a pair of strikeouts. The Red Sox bullpen was running on empty due to six games in seven days.

The Royals (16-9) travel to Barrie Sunday night to face the Baycats (16-11) game time is 7:30 pm.
