Surging Royals take down Red Sox

BRANTFORD – The surging Guelph Royals stayed hot with a 6-1 win over the Brantford Red Sox Sunday afternoon at Arnold Anderson Stadium.
Matthew Pilarczyk drove in four runs for the Royals (15-13), who have won eight of their last 10. Angel Villalona had the other RBI. Brendan Keys and Josh Garton each had two hits and a run, and Kyle Kush singled twice.
Edwin Javier (4-0) went the distance, scattering nine hits with two walks and 14 strikeouts.
Luis Perez drove in the lone Brantford run in the seventh inning. Jacob Reid singled three times, and Anthony Rizquez went 2-for-3.
Edison Frias (1-4) went seven innings in the loss, allowing two runs (one earned) on 10 hits with six strikeouts.
Brantford dropped to 3-23.
