GUELPH – Every Guelph starter had a hit, and eight drove in at least one run as the Royals topped Hamilton 18-7 Tuesday night at David E. Hastings Stadium.
Dalton Pompey drove in two and scored three times atop the Royals’ lineup. Conner Morro went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and three runs, Ethan Hammond had three hits and four RBI, Malik Collymore went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, J.D. Williams singled four times, drove in two and scored twice, Claudio Custodio had a pair of singles, two runs and an RBI, Noah Roberts went 4-for-6 with two RBI and a run, Kyle Kush drove in a run and scored twice and Brando Leroux singled, doubled and scored twice in the 24-hit attack.
Emilis Guerrero (6-3) picked up the win, allowing four runs on seven hits in five innings of relief. He struck out four. Andrew Case started and went three innings, giving up one earned run on five hits with two punchouts.
Michael Bonaccorso (0-1) took the loss, allowing six runs (three earned) on five hits over two innings. He walked three and didn’t register a strikeout.
Laine Renaud hit for the cycle in the loss. The Cards’ right-fielder doubled home a run in the second inning, hit a solo home run in the fourth, tripled home a pair of runs in the fifth and singled with two outs in the ninth.
Josh Niles and Anthony Buonaiuto each drove in a run, and Tristan Osika, Tyler Duncan and Jeremie Veilleux all had a pair of hits.
Guelph improved to 18-9, and Hamilton fell to 6-22.
