Versatile Burns Returns for Third Season in Guelph

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce the re-signing of catcher/infielder Carson Burns for the 2026 season.

Burns, 28, returns for his third season with the team.

A three-time IBL champion in Barrie, the left-handed bat has a lifetime batting average of .253 with six home runs and 34 stolen bases.

Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said Burns will be an integral member of the Royals in 2026.

"Carson is the perfect player to have around. If he is sitting, he is a great teammate. If he playing, he gives us plus-defence at multiple positions and plus-speed. I told him last week that he will be catching more for us and he stressed he is down to do whatever the team needs from him. There is a reason he has been in this league for as long as he has now."
