Veteran Thomas Returns to Bolster Royals Staff

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce today the re-signing of right-handed pitcher Kyle Thomas.
Thomas, 31, returns for his fourth season in the Royal City.
Throughout his first three seasons, the former Detroit Tigers farmhand has a lifetime ERA of 5.21, striking out 97 batters in 96.2 innings.
Thomas, who has also spent time with three of Canada's four independent baseball teams, was a massive bright spot for the Royals in their 2024 run to the finals.
That postseason, Thomas was Guelph's game one starter in the IBL Finals, with his best outing occurring in the semis against the Welland Jackfish, when he allowed one run through five innings in game three in Welland.
Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said the Royals are pumped to have Thomas back.
"We are so excited this has happened. A healthy KT is one of the better Canadian arms in this league. I love watching him compete. He is a tremendous leader who will do whatever it takes to win. His bullpens have been electric. By all accounts, he looks like the old KT."
