Week in Review: Royals Extend Win Streak to Four

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals continue to surge up the standings after their second consuective undefeated weekend.

SATURDAY

The Royals took on the visiting London Majors for the second time this season, but the result was much different. Thanks to starting pitcher Jacob Kush throwing seven scoreless innings and some clutch hitting from the Royals bats, Guelph shutout the Majors 5-0.

Manager Dino Roumel praised the pitching the team got from Kush and closer Nelson Mercado, saying that it saved some arms for Sunday's game in Hamilton.

SUNDAY

Guelph enjoyed steady pitching from Jordan Taylor, Brandon Deans, Aturo Alvarez, and Gaku Ueda, who held the Cardinals to three runs and led the Royals to their fourth straight victory.

UP NEXT

Looking ahead, the Royals host the Chatham Kent-Barnstomers on Tuesday before travelling to Toronto on Friday to face the Maple Leafs.

The team returns home for the start of a weekend home-and-home with the Kitchener Panthers on Saturday.
